The laughs are finally back! Filipino-American stand-up comedian Jo Koy is now back with his newest Netflix Film ‘Jo Koy: Live from the Los Angeles Forum’ with its global release last September 13, 2022. This fourth comedy special is his first step on the stage after the 2-year long onset of the pandemic.
If you’re already a fan, you already know the drill. Jo Koy kicks things off with his Filipino related jokes, but what’s new is his experiences about the pandemic– from having sleep apnea up to the sneezes and parenting. This stand-up gig also takes us back to when the comedian first started, Live from Seattle. He tells his tales about loss, working hard, and having to persevere through all odds.
“Everyone said “no”, they didn’t want my special, and I didn’t care. And my manager and I decided to shoot it, and we used our money” Jo Koy said, talking about his first comedy special ‘Live from Seattle’.
The 1 hour and 14 minutes show is full of entertainment, not only because of the jokes but also because of the engaging and heartfelt narration that brings out genuine emotions from the audience (not to mention the comedy gig might have turned out into a TED Talk somehow along the way).
For those who can’t get enough of Jo Koy or just want to have a quick laugh, his first to third Original Comedy Specials ‘Live From Seattle’, ‘Comin’ In Hot’, and ‘In His Elements’ are all available for streaming on Netflix.
