Police brutality was evident during this time and for far beyond that date, it was not a safe place to be different, to stand out, or rather to be who you are.

America is a very liberated state compared to Asian countries but somehow, Asian countries have learn to adapt and accept pride month as well.

From protest to protest people have faught their way to have a safe place for LGBTQ+. To be given a chance to be real, to be true, to be who you are deep inside.

Finally, it was the year 1999 and 2000 under US President Bill Clinton when pride month was acknowledged. It have eventually been acknowledged by two (2) more presidents: Barrack Obama and Donald Trump.

Since then the streets of New York and other parts of America were infused in Rainbow. People were given a chance to express themselves freely in color, glitter, and style.

Set for recognition and awareness and more than just a rainbow flag aesthetic, the pride month showcases that "we are here for each other". Pride offers acceptance, placement, belonging, and most especially, Love.
