Asian Takeover: Coachella Fashion 2022

On the last three weekends, different Asian artists did not fail to shine and dominate the Coachella stage. From solo artists such as Jackson Wang, Niki and Rich Brian to groups like KPOP artists Epik High, Aespa and the legendary 2ne1, undeniably, these people were able to proudly represent the talented Asian community in a western country with people from different nationalities.

As the famous event finally returned after its two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Coachella were able to top the headlines not just with the amazing music line up, but also with the most awaited Coachella fashion from all the attendees, famous or not. Of course, Asians were able to takeover this category. Here are the top Asian Americans who also dominated the event with their dazzling looks.

Famous for her “hypnotic lip-sync videos” in Tiktok, Filipino-American Bella Porch took over the social media by storm with a single video. However, the young superstar decided to join the list of fashion icons and proved how worthy she is to be included in the longlist as she slayed the Coachella weekends with her dark and daring outfits. She also did not fail to showcase her playful side through her pink outfit. Many fans are happy to see her famous long hair in pigtails.

Is it even Coachella without the Bretman Rock? The internet star, Bretman Rock is a proud Filipino-American who grew up in Hawaii. He is famous for his hilarious and beauty related videos even before vlogging and Tiktok blew the internet. Aside from his social media presence, Bretman Rock is a well-known fashion icon because of his “gender-breaking” and truly breathtaking outfits. Throughout the years, Bretman Rock did not fail to serve the crowd with his dazzling pairings of body fits and this year’s Coachella was not an exemption. His eye-catching colorful outfits are truly mesmerizing.

Famous Asian American actress, Vanessa Hudgens is known as the queen of Coachella because of her constant Coachella fashion since God knows when. The Hollywood star does not fail to rock the event with her unique matchings that are absolutely head turning. The comeback of the famous music festival means the comeback of Queen V’s boho themed outfits. From colorful to neutrals, Vanessa is a VIP guest in Coachella thanks to her dazzling attires making her standout from the crowd. Definitely the undefeated queen of Coachella.

For some, this annual music festival is a gathering of famous singers all over the world. But for others, it is the opportunity to embody freedom and art through fashion. These three iconic people really brought their red carpet in the sea of people empowering others by showing self-love and proudly representing their Asian roots in a western event. Without a doubt, this is something to be proud of.
